Common questions.

Can't find your answer? Ask a Staff Member in the NSRP Discord.

Joining
How old do I have to be?

You must be 16 years of age or older. You also need to understand, speak, and write English.

What do I need to play?

A legal copy of Grand Theft Auto V for PC, a capable PC, a working headset, and a quality microphone. See the community requirements for the full list.

How long does verification take?

Allow up to 24 hours after you send in the signup form. You'll get a Discord DM when you're approved, so there's no need to post anywhere or message staff.

What name do I use?

First name and last initial (for example, Jane D.), on Discord, TeamSpeak, and in game.

Where do I find the server address and TeamSpeak?

Connection details are only shared with verified members in the Discord. They're not posted publicly. Ask an FTO Lead or above, or an Administrator, for the TeamSpeak password.

Departments
I want to dispatch. Which department do I pick?

Pick the department you want to dispatch for most often. Communications works per agency, so your dispatch training and work happen within that department.

Can I join State Police right away?

State Police has limited slots. If it's full when you verify, choose another department. You can ask about transfers later through that department's leadership.

How do I join Development?

Development is part-time. You need to have been a member for at least 30 days, then apply with a detailed portfolio of your past work.

Can I stream or record?

Yes. Any member is allowed to stream or record their roleplay. You don't need to apply.

Membership
Do I have to play civilian?

Yes. Every member needs 2.5 hours of civilian activity a month. You don't submit anything, because the server tracks it while you play as a civilian.

How do I get a callsign?

Finish in-game training with your department's FTOs. Then submit a callsign request with your name, department, lead FTO, and training date. Requests can take up to 72 hours. Messaging Administrators directly won't speed them up.

Ready to jump in?

Join the Discord, read the requirements, and get your registration in. We'll take it from there.
